Week 1 - Wrap Up

Week One is over for Hoffy's 8 week challenge - how did I go?

Starting weight: 101.5kg
Week one weigh in: 97.7kg
Total loss: 3.8kg

Really happy with that result. I knew I'd have a decent loss, it's the first week. But do you know what? I deserve that decent loss. I worked my butt off for that loss! I exercised everyday, ate LCHF/Keto friendly foods and tracked everything. So high freaking five to me.

Day One (Friday 9th June): 

Exercise: The Husband woke me up early to work out. I fucking hate waking up early but I still did it. 15 minutes on the treadmill plus some upper body weights: bicep curls, upright rows and dumbbell bench press.  150 calories burnt (I hate that you don't really get anything to put on my fitness pal for weights, but at least I know it continues burning throughout the day).

Food: Calories 1438, Carbs 15g. Lets be honest here, I am not going to stress about having 200g of fat. Carbs will be my main focus as well as getting my protein up (ummm ahhh, a big no no in some LCHF/Keto groups but hey they also say not to exercise, seriously, no). All lunches and dinners are prepped for next week already. High five.



Day Two (Saturday 10th June):

Exercise: Oh my god, Evil woke up at 6:30am so we could ALL go to bootcamp - what is this craziness!? Completed the 1.5hr session. I thought The Husband was going to die at a few stages. It's hard getting up out of bed so early on a Saturday but at least we know our exercise is done for the day. We spent a couple of hours in the garden raking up leaves too. 643 calories burnt at bootcamp (plus another 390 with the raking, but who is counting.....)

Food: Coconut chicken curry for dinner - LOVED it. You can find the recipe at Ketoconnect. Calories 1182, Carbs 13g.



Day Three (Sunday 11th June):

Exercise: I organised a group session interval jogging at a semi local park. Oh my god, so sore from bootcamp yesterday. I feel like my legs are concrete. We ended up splitting up the group, fast peeps and slower peeps haha. 390 calories burnt.

Food: I figured today was going to be a bit of a challenge (a challenge within a challenge, who would have thunk it). It's a long weekend in Melbourne so Evil and I are heading down to the coast to spend the night with Mo and Co. Surprisingly managed to keep food on track. Made some keto friendly cheesecakes (recipe from Keto Mama Meeks) which are pretty rich and even half a cheesecake is hard to finish! Calories 1407 Carbs 15g.



Day Four (Monday 12th June):

Exercise: So I must admit I had made a conscious decision not to exercise by lunchtime. It was going to be my day off, because you should let your body rest right? I felt such guilt when I got home about not exercising that I did a 30 minute upper body weights session. Crisis diverted.

Food: It's always lovely when someone else cooks you breakfast isn't it? Thanks Wifey. No lunch, just a quick snack in the car on the way home from the coast. Evil was screaming for McDonalds - dream on kiddo. Calories 1243, Carbs 12g.



Day Five (Tuesday 13th June):

Exercise: That's it, I'm going to do a half marathon - one day. After doing a Couch to 5km session on the treadmill I've decided to add this to my bucket list. 252 calories burnt.

Food: I am feeling really good. I am sticking to this plan. I know it's only five days in, but I feel like I will be able to keep this up for the next 50 something days. SIX days in a row I have exercised, that is unheard of for me. The Husband is highly motivated too and kicking some ass. My appetite is fading today, feel as though I am forcing myself to eat, which really isn't the point of LCHF/Keto is it..... Calories 1373, Carbs 12g.


Day Six (Wednesday 14th June):

Exercise: Hooray it's Hoffy's bootcamp day again! We missed Monday's session due to the public holiday so I am excited to get back today. It's a family event with The Husband and Evil coming along. I did something to my quad mid session - felt a sharp PING. ARGH. Every squat was like pulling teeth. Still finished the session though. 556 calories burnt.

Food: Hmm a bit of a mixed bag today. Wasn't feeling my home cooked lunch and had two Japanese yakitori sticks. I tried a no sugar protein bar as a snack before bootcamp and meh. Calories 1036, Carbs 9g.


Day Seven (Thursday 15th June):

Exercise: My quad is still screaming so I decided to have a slow 30 minute walk on the treadmill this morning. I think it was a smart move as by the end of the day it felt perfect. 212 calories burnt.

Food: ZERO appetite today. Gave my dinner to my father in law as I really didn't feel like it. Have peed on a stick today and I'm in Ketosis. Happy days! Must admit, I lied on my fitness pal about my calorie intake today so it wouldn't yell at me about being too low. WHATEVER MFP. Spent a lot of time organising next weeks meal plan + grocery list and catching up on my habit tracker. Calories 763, Carbs 11g.
